Operabilty: a Micro music festival

About

Operability is an annual chamber opera festival that celebrates new and diverse works for voice and chamber ensemble by bringing together composers, performers, and audiences through an innovative concert experience. Founded in 2021, Operability has commissioned and premiered works by emerging composers and successfully established artistic and educational partnerships across the United States.

Mission

The mission of Operability is to cultivate, broaden, and diversify the opera and vocal repertoire by commissioning, programming, and producing high-level performances of works written for small cast and chamber ensemble. Through its artistic partnerships, Operability is committed to providing artists with opportunities to create their most imaginative and inspired work. Operability uses the genre of chamber and micro-opera (works that are 30 minutes or less in length) as a vehicle for community building, expression of cultural identity, and the advancement of educational programs.
